the vanguard citicar
th following is my project to rebuild a 1976 electric car
hi and welcome to my car
right now the car has had new front and rear breaks and tires as the car was sitting on marthas vinyard in ma. for many years and sand is a real killer the tires were the origenal from the day the car was shiped from florida
as you can see there is a lot of dust on the dash that needs to be cleaned up but we will get to that latter on firt the car has to be road worthy
here are the 8 batteries all the termanals were cleaned the batts were filled with distilled water and stres tested after a 12 hour charge and seemd to be in good shape for they are about 3 years old
well i got a sticker but it was very hard to get the computer kept asking how many cylinders the car had so after many atempts the guy at the servis station had to call the rmv to get a code to type in so the computer would reconise the car but everything passed and now i can drive it around

here is the speed controll unit it works like new but will soon be replaced by a motor speed controller a nessesery upgrade for the times
well while im still waiting for the front tires and rims to arrive everything is on hold so come back soon for more upgrades ...to be continued
im back to do more work on the citicar first i cut across the front to start the making of a hood
after cutting the line and then drilling out all the rivets i put duct tape to protect it from the rain that started
now having done all the cutting and drilling comes the hard part carefully pulling off the hood this is real messy because you see the black stuff thats a very sticky messy glue after almost thirty yearsb its still very sticky ...go to page 3
